Strict control over the tongue, coupled with regular exercises at frequent intervals, will do the trick for losing weight permanently.
The following diet-related tips might be of use for all those obese people who want to shed their excess weight naturally and permanently.
Tip #1: Never fast: There is a common misconception among many people that fasting at frequent intervals might help in reducing overweight. This is totally wrong. Instead, fasting, or not taking foods for a long period, might have unwanted consequences such as low blood pressure and tiredness. At times, it may even lead to heart failure.
Tip#2: Eat breakfast, and do not skip meals: Yet another misconception widely prevalent among many people striving to shed excess weight is to keep the stomach empty for a prolonged period of time. Invariably they try to skip breakfast in the morning or avoid taking meals after taking breakfast. This is a wrong notion and people following this concept tend to over-eat at times. The stomach should never be empty or full at any point of time. Small amount of food at periodic intervals, something like once in six hours or so, that will ensure that the stomach is neither full nor empty will be an ideal solution.
Tip#3: Consider taking more of complex carbohydrates: Carbohydrates account for a major part of the food one eats, in addition to proteins, vitamins, minerals and fat content. Some people resort to low carbohydrate diets as a viable means to shed excess weight. This might not yield lasting results. Instead, one can be choosy in selecting carbohydrates.
There are two types of carbohydrates – simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates can be found in sugar, white bread, white pasta and white rice. These simple carbohydrates are quickly turned into glucose by the body, which in turn leads to more insulin production and resulting in glucose crash, thus leading one to feel hungrier in a relatively short period. Complex carbohydrates, on the other hand, comprise of whole grains and fresh vegetables. One should avoid simple carbohydrates and replace it with more of complex carbohydrates.
Tip#4: Drink plenty of fluids – especially water: It is advisable to drink a minimum of eight glasses of water per day. Fluids, excluding water, such as diet soda or mineral water can also be taken in ample quantity. These fluids not only quench thirst but also reduce appetite for food due to fullness in the stomach.
